This year, HKAW is hosting the Annual Gala to benefit Seattle Symphony Orchestra's Celebrate Asia! program and we invite all of you to join us!!
Featuring:
• The Luly Yang Fashion Show by the renowned International Fashion Designer Luly Yang
Luly has been voted Seattle's Best Dress Designer for consecutive years by Seattle Bride magazine; she is also the recipient of the Best Dress Boutique and Best Bridal Accessories Award. Since 2000, Luly Yang has been celebrated for her elegant and timeless bridal gowns and evening ensembles for ladies and gentlemen created with the most luxurious silks and the finest fabrics.
Performance by:
• Members of Seattle Symphony
Founded in 1903, the Seattle Symphony is one of the oldest and largest cultural institutions in the Pacific Northwest. Under the direction of Music Director Gerard Schwarz, the Symphony is recognized for its adventurous programming and tradition of performing music by contemporary composers. The Symphony has recorded more than 100 compact discs, and its recordings have received 11 Grammy Award nominations. From September through July each year, the Orchestra is heard live in Benaroya Hall, as well as throughout the community, by more than 315,000 people. In both 2007 and 2008, Seattle Symphony won Emmy Awards for its first two self-produced television specials, Seattle Symphony From Benaroya Hall, and Seattle Symphony From Benaroya Hall: Brahms, Kernis and Kodály.
• Lion Dance led by Master David Leong
Master David Leong has been a devoted practitioner of the tranditional Shaolin Hung Kuen style Kung Fu and a teacher of the art on lion dancing for over 20 years. He contribute his time and effort to many community events, as well as having been our Gala's Lion Dance Director since 2007.

Hong Kong has long been a staunch support of free trade. At the beginning of 2010, Hong Kong was ranked by the Washington DC-based Heritage Foundation as the freest economy in the world for the 16th consecutive year. In this business luncheon, Mr. Donald Tong will update the Seattle audience on Hong Kong’s latest development. He will also share with the audience on the Hong Kong Government’s latest initiatives to develop the City into a wine trading and distribution hub in Asia, which include the elimination of wine duty in February 2008, as well as other supportive measures such as facilitating the movement of wine into the Mainland China. |

Hong Kong Association of Washington will be hosting their first annual students mentorship program, connecting local students and young professionals to seasoned professionals and executives out in an array of industries.
This program is set to last one month, for students and young professionals alike to get a chance to regularly communicate with a seasoned professional in regular intervals.

Once again, HKAW invites you to come roll up your sleeves and join us in clam digging at the beautiful Birch Bay! It is merely an hour drive from Seattle, and we will have lunch as a group after a fun filled morning digging up clams.
We will have a free tour guide leading us along the way on how to dig clams, and different fun activities on the morning and afternoon that day. After lunch, those who are interested may join up to travel with us on the optional trip where we wil head north to Vancouver, BC. All itinerary are at own expense.
