Benjamin was the President of Hong Kong Association of Washington (HKAW) from 2006 to 2009, and Chairman of the National US Hong Kong Business Association (NUSHKBA) in 2009. A well known figure within the Seattle community, he is willing to step up to help and donate to the community at any opportunity he gets.
Benjamin has been an influential figure of HKAW's recent growth by working closely with the National USHKBA and Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide. He brings in numerous business connections, and leading the way on building relationships with organizations such as Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO).
On the business side, Benjamin is also an international business leader. He is an owner of an import/export company who is well connected in the business world, especially in Asia, from Hong Kong, Shanghai, to Taiwan.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Andy Yip moved to Seattle in 1995 with his family to further his education. After his graduation from the University of Washington, he was recruited by Prudential Financial to lead a diversity effort in the Pacific Northwest. In 2008, Andy saw the opportunity and became independent and started his firm in Mercer Island with his partner, with a focus on financial and estate planning.
Andy now lives in Bellevue with his wife Elizabeth, his son Kaden and daughter Kaylee. He also serves on the following community organizations:

Secretary - Cynthia So

Cynthia took on the role as a secretary of Hong Kong Association of Washington in 2006, she brings exceptional people skills and a can-do attitude to her position. She works closely with the operations group as well as all board members to coordinate and assist with numerous events.
In her business background, she has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry. She now works for HSBC as a Branch Operations Officer, with her focus being in Marketing and Sales. As a native of Hong Kong, she is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She works with local clients along with many others who are based in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China.
Cynthia resides in Bellevue, WA with her husband and family, and enjoys movies, cooking and traveling in her free time.
Tony is a senior tax manager with Clark Raymond & Company, a local CPA firm. He has been serving as the treasurer of HKAW since 2006 and is also actively involved in other Asian non-profit organizations.
Vice President of Business Development - Sabrina Villanueva

Sabrina Villanueva was born and raised in Seattle, WA, but her heart lies in the Far East. Since 2002, she has spent extensive time living, working, and traveling throughout China. In 2006, she started her own consulting and tour company, leading groups to China for travel, business research, and educational programs. Sabrina holds a B.A. in International Politics and Mandarin Chinese from Western Washington University (WWU). In June 2010, she graduated from City University with a Master’s Degree in business. Sabrina currently manages business development and leasing at The Westin Building, Clise Properties telecommunications facilities.
Vice President of Community Relations - Bosco Lam

Born in China, educated and worked in Hong Kong for more than 24 years, Bosco Lam migrated to Seattle in 1993 with his family. With the previous banking experience in Hong Kong, from Dec 93 up to now, he has been working in Washington First International Bank, Seattle which is a Chinese community bank with 4 branches in Seattle.
Bosco is very active in the local Catholic Church, now he is serving as a Council member of Seattle Chinese Catholic Community after finishing his Presidential term of office. He had also served as an APA Adviser (Asian Pacific Islander Adviser) of the Seattle Archdiocese of Seattle.

Antonio Sanchez joined the office as Senior Analyst and Coordinator of Economic Development and International Relations in August 2002. Dr. Sanchez brings 17 years of experience in the Washington State Legislature as a senior research analyst and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington. He has an extensive background in international relations and protocol and economic development. He has received local and international recognition for his work documenting and promoting the history and heritage of the Hispanic community in Washington State.
He hopes to contribute his language and international protocol skills to help develop the Lieutenant Governor’s new international relations strategy. Dr. Sanchez lives with his wife and daughter in Des Moines, Washington.

Board of Directors - Charlie Payne

Charlie Payne is President and Chairman of Chi-square Technologies, a medical software development company, whose corporate headquarters will soon be located in Chinatown, bringing 25 to 30 white collar workers into the midst of Chinatown. Charlie has been in business in China for many years in the medical field and is the former Vice President of the Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce. His particular interests lay in the revitalization of Chinatown and specifically in safety issues within Chinatown.

David Chan was trained as a Certified Public Accountant and worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Ernst & Young accounting firms. He worked in their International Consulting Group and had a chance to worked in China and Philippine. At that time, he discovered that he liked travel more than accounting work. He also realized that he was not good in counting widgets but better in counting new places he visited. He learned his travel trade at Cruise West, a cruise line specialize in Alaska. Soon, he realized he was really an entrepreneur trapped in an accountant’s body. He started American Safari Cruises with good backing from some strong investors. American Safari Cruises is an upscale adventure yacht cruising to Alaska and other exotic places.
Now, he owns World Class Travel, a Seattle downtown travel agency focusing on tours and cruises that are exploring exotic places. David is organizing trips for trade and business development to Hong Kong and Greater China. David was born in Hong Kong and went to high school in both Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Destine (Dusty) Bailey was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. He has lived and worked in the Seattle/Tacoma area for his entire professional career.
After graduating from Central Washington University he continued growing his career with Washington Mutual, now JP Morgan Chase. Through out his nine year successful career with WaMu, he rose from the position of teller to that of branch manager with oversight responsibility for an additional five branch locations.
In November 2008, Destine` earned the opportunity to become Branch Manager/Vice President for HSBC Seattle. He was entrusted to successfully open HSBC's first expansion branch into the Seattle market, and continues to prosper in this position.
Destine enjoys vacationing, golf and spending time with family and friends.

Homing originally joined Hong Kong Association of Washington (HKAW) as a webmaster in 2009. And soon after, he joined the membership division to assist with developing membership recruitment and retention plans, geared towards college students and young business professionals. In his current role as the Director of Operations, he is responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of the HKAW sub-committee, as well as HKAW's information systems, marketing, membership, and operations group. As one of the younger board member of HKAW, Homing also works closely with local University student groups in developing and coordinating events.
A graduate of Western Washington University, Homing majored in Business Administration with a focus of Business Management and a minor in Operations Management. His business experience ranges from manufacturing supply chain management, process improvement, logistics management, accounting, auditing, public relations and recruiting to live events planning.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Homing is fluent in English and Cantonese, and he is a bilingual business analyst who works with internationally based clients from Hong Kong, China, India, Thailand, UK and Australia.
In his free time, Homing enjoys playing sports, spending time with family and friends, traveling and being active.

Michael Chan was born, raised and educated in Hong Kong. The Chan family moved to Seattle in 1990. His first business venture in the U.S. was Real Estate Development. He bought tracks of raw land, developing them into sub-divisions. In the past decade, he has completed hundreds of building lots, sub-divisions and condo conversions throughout the Greater Seattle area.
Michael is also Chairman on the board of a privately held Architectural Manufacturing firm in Hong Kong. The company designs supplies, and installs building facades for residential and commercial high-rises. Products range from Nature Stone, Glass, Aluminum and different finishes of metal. In the pasting decades, they have completed thousand of projects throughout Hong Kong and China, World class buildings such as “Cyber Port“ and the new “Air Port extension.” In the year 2001, Michael ventured into the telecommunication business, and in the 2004, he became a partner of the Seattle Chinese Times. Within three years, Seattle Chinese Times developed into one of the biggest Asian newspaper brands. High quality color print, enriched life style content, bilingual reporting, wide aspects of updates on Asia were the theme of their weekly presentation. Their future target audience consists of the younger generation and new immigrants. Seattle Chinese Times strives on a daily basis to be the conduit between the local businesses and a bulletin board for the local government.

Nora is currently a proud founder and President of the Seniors in Action Foundation, a non-profit organization where they help seniors to get involved with the community.
Nora lives a very simple life, as a wife of the Late Dr. Austen Chan, and mothers of Dr. Michael, Dr. Richard, Dr. Brian Chan and also mother of Lisa Heckathorn, President of Creditnet.com, and grandmother of 6 wonderful grand children. She enjoys volunteer work for the community and it is her passion to help the seniors.

A M.S. E.E.; Ph.D. from University of Washington, Seattle, Stan is currently the director of Major Projects at the department of IT for the City of Seattle. His responsibilities include managing groups of Project Managers and Engineers for major IT projects for the City and for the region. Examples of projects such as the
King County-wide public safety two ways radio system ($57M); regional fiber partnership program ($10M); City of Seattle Police and Fire Computer Assisted Dispatching System and Record management systems ($16M); City of Seattle Microsoft Upgrade Program that includes Active Directory, Identity Management, Exchange, Archive & e-discovery.($11M), and City of Seattle Emergency Operation Center and 911 dispatch center systems ($7M).
Here are also some of his past working experiences, including:
- General project Manager, Hidroservices, Brasil. In charge of managing Major Telecommunication project for Hydroservices SA under consultant contract with the Nigerian Ministry of Communication. Project scope cover nine province and 24 major cities included the new federal capital Abuja, project funding exceeds $2 Billion. Annual consultant fee $16 Million
– Manager, International Engineering Co., Brasil. Manages a group of engineers for special communication projects for: railroads, Electrical Utilities, Mining Company operations in Amazon.
– Associate professor, Instituto Militar de Engenharia, Brasil. Associate Professor for the graduate school, Electrical Engineering Department. Teach courses, develop laboratories and research in Electric-Magnetic field.
